APTA Michigan Direct Access Survey

About this initiative: The Michigan chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association needs your help. We are working hard to convince our legislators in Lansing of the value of unrestricted direct access to Physical Therapy. If passed, this would allow individuals in our state to be evaluated and treated by a physical therapist without a referral from their physician. Several other states in the country already allow unrestricted direct access. Ultimately, this can help the patient return to their prior level of function faster and cheaper than the current process allows.
1.Your First and Last Name
2.Your Zip Code
3.Share your story! Please explain your personal experience with the physical therapy referral process, including the amount of time it took you from injury to start of physical therapy. What barriers did you encounter when trying to get to physical therapy, if any? How might your journey have been different if you had been able to see your physical therapist immediately following injury? These stories will be de-identified and shared with your legislators in Lansing.
Thank you for your participation in this worthwhile initiative!
