Background A local nonprofit is developing a new community for active older adults that will offer all levels of living, along with access to a wide range of amenities and services on one campus.
Location Location We will build on 14+ acres in McKinleyville with easy access to area restaurants, health-care, entertainment, and amenities.
Timeline Timeline Pre-construction work and campus design is expected to be complete by 2025. Projected move-in date is 2027.
Residences Residences Projected 144 cottages and apartments, plus up to 60 homes developed separately as affordable senior housing.
Continuing Care Continuing Care Independent living plus higher levels of care as needed.
Community Amenities Community Amenities Possibilities include multiple dining venues, fitness center, arts studio, events space, walkways, bike trails, and outdoor areas for recreation.
Pricing Pricing Residents pay an entrance fee and an ongoing monthly fee.
Services Included Monthly fees cover utilities cable and internet, home maintenance, a flexible dining plan, housekeeping; transportation, security, assistance with health care coordination, and access to community amenities and social/educational/cultural events.

Entrance Fee and home sizes:
Listed below are a few of the projected apartment home sizes and sample pricing for the proposed community. Prices shown are in 2025 dollars.  

The fees presented below are for a 80% repayable entrance fee plan, and a 0% repayable entrance fee plan. Under the 80% plan, you or your estate would receive 80% of the entrance fee you paid if you leave the community for any reason. Under the 0% repayable plan, the entrance fee repayment would decrease at approximately 2% per month for 4 years. After 4 years there would be no repayment.

Both entrance fee plans include a continuing care benefit, which means you would receive a discount on the cost of care if you or your partner need assisted living or memory care.
