Possible Dates
The fall conference schedule is already pretty full:
-- TCUK Sept (date and location TBD)
-- Content Marketing World – Cleveland, OH Sept 8–12
-- CIDM Best Practices – St. Petersburg, FL Sept 21–23
-- IDW – San Jose, CA Sept 30–Oct 2
-- Localization World – Silicon Valley Oct 14–16
-- LavaCon – New Orleans, LA Oct 18–20
-- TCWorld – Stuttgart, Germany Nov 10–12
-- CMS/DITA Europe 2015 – Munich, Germany Nov 16–17
-- DUK – Bristol, UK Nov 19–20
Options for dates are mid June (before the July-Aug summer holiday) or November 5–7 (the weekend before TCWorld).
The weather in June would be nicer than November, but that doesn't give us much time to produce and promote the event, or for attendees to ask for budgetary approval to attend.
Having the conference Nov 5–7 would enable speakers and vendors going to TCWorld to fly in a few days early and attend both events. The disadvantage is that Sept-Nov is loaded with conferences, all trying to attract a similar pool of attendees, speakers, and exhibitors.
Note: Someone just reminded me that the Society for Technical Communication's annual summit is June 21–25 this yaar, so late June won't work.
