Covid-19 impact on museums in ROI and NI |
Dear IMA members and colleagues,
As we collectively support the response to Covid-19, it is not yet apparent what the long-term effect of the closure of our museums across the island will bring.
From loss of earned-income lines and cancellation of programmes to the impact on operations and, in particular, on staff and volunteers, it is important that we take stock of the current situation and work as a collective to minimise the negative effect on our sector and the communities we serve and support.
To enable us to assess the current difficulties faced by museums and staff, we are collating information via this survey that will allow us to identify areas of utmost priority and seek solutions and additional supports that we can bring to relevant stakeholders, government departments and agencies.

The date for completion is Friday 3rd April.
Approximate completion is 15 minutes and it is recommendable that it be completed by a senior member of staff. For the purposes of assessing short-term impact on museums across the island, we are focusing on a 31-day period (one month) following closure of your museum to the public.
Please give estimated figures if you do not have access to data and note that all information will be kept confidential and anonymised in the report.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Kind regards,
Gina O'Kelly
