St. Croix County is updating the Zoning Ordinance, through which development and land use is regulated in most unincorporated parts of the County. The purpose of the update is to ensure that the ordinance is meeting the needs of the towns that use County zoning. Cities and villages and three towns (Hudson, Troy, Forest) have their own zoning ordinances and the Town of Cady is unzoned; property in these areas will not be affected by changes to the County zoning ordinance. The other 17 towns use the County Zoning ordinance and County staff are working with each town and a consultant team to discuss possible amendments to the ordinance.
