Child Care Foundational Training (CCFT) Scholarship Program

Marathon County Government has partnered with Childcaring to provide Child Care Foundational Trainings and Stipends to increase the number of child care providers and regulated child care slots in Marathon County.

Potential child care providers will receive FREE foundational training required to operate their own licensed or certified family child care program in their home, or work at a licensed group center. Training includes Abusive Head Trauma Prevention, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Prevention training, Mandated Reporter training, and Pediatric First Aid/CPR w/ AED. Care must be provided within Marathon County, WI.

A two-year commitment of providing child care in Marathon County is required; early termination of this agreement will require repayment for the foundational trainings, to Childcaring. Stipends ($5,000) will be provided to each family child care provider or group center with suggested amounts for incentive pay to participants.

Apply now; capacity is limited. Priority will be given to participants working at full-day centers that serve children birth-5 years old.

Please read the following guidelines:

I verify that this group center is currently within good standing with the WI Department of Children and Families and understand that if at anytime during this training/stipend project it is not, this agreement will end and we may be required to pay back the full stipend amount.

I acknowledge the $5,000 stipend will be awarded to this group center for each participant placed here to work upon completion of their first foundational training.

Childcaring outlines the following incentive pay schedule to participant(s):
working for 6 months ($250), 1 year ($500), 18 months ($750), and 2 years ($1,000) –
total $2,500. The remaining portion is to be used for other staffing or onboarding costs.

I agree to pay this employees wages while they complete foundational trainings (face to face/homework).

I agree to complete reports/surveys and provide feedback as requested. Non-completion may affect eligibility.

After completing the foundational trainings, the participant/employee agrees to provide child care services in Marathon County for a minimum of two years.

If employment is terminated by either the participant or the program, Childcaring will assist with alternative employment placement or repayment, if necessary. Repayment of foundational training at a cost of $50 per course is required by the participant, if child care services are offered for less than the two-year commitment.
