Copper River Watershed Project
The Copper River Watershed Project has received funding from the Cordova Community Foundation to expand our aluminum can recycling program in collaboration with the City of Cordova. Because of the consistent, high value of aluminum in the recycling market, we are able to sell Cordova’s aluminum and use the proceeds to offset the cost of recycling fishing gear. Therefore, we hope to partner with local businesses with a likely higher volume of aluminum cans, like yourself, to promote aluminum can recycling efforts in town and support the popular fishing gear recycling program.
Additionally, did you know that by recycling aluminum, we can prolong the lifespan of our local landfill? Unfortunately, aluminum that is sent to our landfill can sit for more than 500 years before oxidizing. If we bale our recycled aluminum, it can in turn be used to generate money to offset the costs of fishing web recycling.
Please help us expand aluminum can recycling efforts in Cordova by telling us how we can facilitate your participation and share any questions, and/or concerns you may have. Your feedback is welcome and appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey and for all that you do in our town.
