Easy English - Help us Collect Stories About the NDIS Sexual Services Ban

We need your help to collect stories about people who have been told they cannot have disability-specific sexual services funded by the NDIS. These supports may include therapy, counselling, or other types of help.

Since October 2024, the NDIS has banned funding for sexual services. But there is confusion about what this means. Many people with disability have been told they cannot get funding for supports that are not sexual services, like therapy or counselling.

We want to collect these stories to show how this ban affects people. We will use this information to ask the NDIS and other decision-makers to change the rules and allow disability-specific sexual services.

Your story will be kept private. We will not use your name or any details that can identify you.

Who should fill out this form?

We are NOT looking for new stories about the NDIS denying funding for sex workers unless the NDIS approved it in your plan after 3 October 2024.

We ARE looking for stories about other types of sexual services being denied, such as:
  • Sex therapy or counselling
  • Buying sex toys, positioning aids, continence aids, or companion beds
  • Special sex education from an occupational therapist or sexual health counsellor
  • Learning about pornography safely
  • Getting support to find an intimate partner and understand consent
  • Support to manage sexual behaviours of concern
You can fill out this form if you:
  • Are an NDIS participant and have been denied funding for these supports
  • Know someone who has been denied funding for these supports
Deadline extended: the survey will be open until Thursday 24th April 2025

How long will the survey take?

This form will take about 15 minutes to complete. Questions with a (*) must be answered.
