C-GEO Travel Grant Application
C-GEO would like to support its Teacher Consultants (TCs) as they represent C-GEO at conferences, seminars, and workshops by providing a stipend to offset costs. These costs may include registration, travel, lodging and meals. The maximum stipend for out-of state travel is $1,500 and for in-state travel it is $500.
The application deadline is rolling, but applications must be received at least 30 days prior to the event. Applications will be processed as they come in via electronic email with Steering Committee approval. Recipients have six months to use a grant, once it is awarded. If we have multiple applications, TCs giving a presentation will be given priority. Priority may also be given to those who have never received a grant; however, there are no restrictions on the number of times an individual may apply.
Awards are distributed on a reimbursement basis. C-GEO cannot reimburse expenses that are paid by anyone other than the grant recipient. A reimbursement request and accompanying receipts must be submitted within 14 days of the last day of travel.
Grant recipients will be required to submit an END OF TRAVEL REPORT within 10 days of the travel end date. C-GEO will provide a URL at which to submit the report. Examples of the kind of information we will request include such things as the number of attendees at your presentation, what benefits you derived that will help you professionally, and how the experience may have enhanced your knowledge of geography and your ability to integrate it into your teaching.
