Northeast Hydrogen Hub: Massachusetts Market Survey

The Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act (IIJA) appropriated $8 billion for the five-year period encompassing fiscal years 2022 through 2026 for the development of Regional Clean Hydrogen Hubs. Basic information about this funding is available at: Regional Clean Hydrogen Hubs | Department of Energy.

As part of a multi-state consortium, led by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (“MassCEC”) and the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources ("DOER") will collaborate with a diverse set of public and private hydrogen ecosystem partners to apply for funding through the Department of Energy’s Regional Clean Hydrogen Hub Initiative. Our vision is of a clean hydrogen hub that supplies a variety of end uses consistent with the Commonwealth's ambitious climate objectives, possibly including transportation (rail, heavy duty vehicles, ports), district energy, heavy industry, and storage for the electric grid.

This form is intended to collect information from parties that have an interest in developing clean hydrogen projects (involving hydrogen generation, consumption and/or related services) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts which could contribute to a compelling and competitive application to the Department of Energy's anticipated hydrogen hub funding opportunity and to the hydrogen economy in the Northeast.

Your response to this survey will help MassCEC better understand the hydrogen industry landscape across the Commonwealth. We may contact you to gather more information.
