THE MAINE FOOD CONVERGENCE PROJECT: Forging Connections, Building Networks |
About this project:
Leaders from five Maine food and climate networks are collaborating on the Maine Food Convergence Project. The goal of the MFCP is to build greater connectivitywithin the complex web of producers, processors, distributors, retailers, entrepreneurs, and eaters that make up Maine’s food system. The project will create new opportunities for collaboration from the grassroots to state level, leading up to a state-wide food system convergence and active follow-up organizing.
By convening a broad and diverse representation of Maine’s local food movements for deep, facilitated conversations, we seek to question our previous assumptions, identify common ground and move toward a food system that meets the needs of all Mainers while nurturing a healthy environment.
How you can help:
Your voice matters. While this moment builds upon the past work of the organizing groups and countless others, our collective success will rely upon collaboration and support from Maine’s rich array of food systems organizations, businesses, farmers, fishermen, and individuals like you. We want your voice to inform these conversations. Your participation in this survey will inform the planning of five regional dialogues to be held this summer and the Maine Food Convergence slated for early 2021. Thank you for your thoughtful responses.
