ABOUT THE AMBASSADOR COMMITTEE: MIBF Ambassadors aim to support the Advisory Board of the Midwest Immigration Bond Fund Coalition (MIBFC) by engaging in community education and ongoing fundraising efforts to support the Midwest Immigration Bond Fund. This Committee includes formerly detained individuals, family members and friends of individuals who have been detained, as well as allies. This Committee does not not have any fiduciary responsibilities to the bond fund/Coalition nor do members of the Committee have responsibilities related to operational or organizational decision-making.
TIME COMMITMENT: The Coalition asks for Committee members to commit to participate for 1 year, with the option of participating again but no expectation that will be the case. Committee members are expected to commit between 12-15 hours to the Committee’s work every 6 months, however the timing of committee members’ participation is flexible; we ask that this time commitment include participation in at least one “Fianza Friday” in 2021.
There will be no regular meetings. The Ambassador Chair will offer periodic online trainings and Committee members are expected to attend at least one. Communications will primarily take place over email but we will also make a text or WhatsApp option available depending on preferences of Ambassadors.
Note re members/staff of community organizations: The Coalition asks for members to join the Committee in their individual, not organizational, capacity. However, Committee members have the option of joining in their organizational capacity if their organization has agreed to support the bond fund’s efforts.
