2012 AFL NSW/ACT Coach of the Year Award

Coaches are the key to not only the continual development of all participants but also the actual recruitment and retention of participants. The influence a coach has on his/her players should not be underestimated. AFL NSW/ACT acknowledges the efforts of all coaches and the role they play in making our game the greatest. Therefore we encourage all clubs, leagues and associations to submit the name of any coach they believe to have promoted the development of not only all involved in the game but also the game itself with their outstanding contribution to Australian Football.

In regards to selection criteria for the awards, AFL NSW/ACT is looking to recognise coaches that specifically address the following key areas;

• Coach for all players.
• Operate by a means of a ‘Whole Club Approach’ to coaching.
• Adopt a FUN and POSITIVE approach.
• Coaches as a facilitator not a dictator.
• Has a ‘Game Based Approach’ to teaching.

Nominations must be completed before 15th July 2012.
