Community Feedback Survey - Proposed Sunny Corner Wind Farm |
We would like to understand what the community thinks about a proposal to develop and operate a wind farm within the Sunny Corner State Forest.
Through a competitive tender process, Forestry Corporation of NSW has issued a permit to Someva Renewables and Mainstream Renewable Power to start investigation work for a wind farm that will co-exist with softwood plantation trees and complement existing forest uses and Forestry Corporation operations. No turbines are proposed in hardwood forest.
Just like a major development on private property, the opportunity needs to be approved by the NSW Government first. If approved, the wind farm will generate about 500MW of electricity - this is enough to power up to 280,000 homes with affordable, clean and reliable energy for about 30 years.
We will use the information in this survey to understand community views about the proposed opportunity to make sure the financial and other benefits of the project flow back to the community in the best way possible.
The survey should take around 5-10 minutes to do.
All information you share will be handled as per Australia’s Privacy Act 1988, and in line with the Ethical Guidelines of the Australian Evaluation Society.
