Sunny Corner Wind Farm Survey 2: Community Benefits |
Sunny Corner Wind Farm invites you to 'have your say' and share your views on how the potential benefits could be shared and distributed, and what level of engagement is most meaningful to the local community.
Through a competitive tender process, Forestry Corporation of NSW issued a permit to Someva Renewables and Mainstream Renewable Power to investigate the development of a wind farm to co-exist within a softwood plantation at Sunny Corner State Forest. The proposed development would complement existing forest uses and Forestry Corporation operations.
This project would be considered a State Significant Development and assessed like any other, by the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. If approved, the wind farm will generate about 500MW of reliable clean energy for 30 years – enough energy to power over 300,000 homes per year.
Sunny Corner Wind Farm is developing a Community Benefits Program, including a Community Benefit Fund to ensure the potential project supports the prosperity of the region. Additional funds and elements of the program are also in development. Feedback from this survey will help inform the Community Benefits Program.
The survey is designed to take approximately five minutes to complete.
Any information shared will be handled as per Australia’s Privacy Act 1988, and in line with the Ethical Guidelines of the Australian Evaluation Society.
