'Speaking from Experience' – Collaboration with the Australian Human Rights Commission x CAWLS |
The Central Australian Women's Legal Service is supporting the Australian Human Rights Commission carry out consultations as part of the Speaking from Experience project.
This project invites people who have been sexually harassed at work to have their say about what they think needs to change to make workplaces safer.
The information gathered by the Australian Human Rights Commission will help create resources that will help workers and employers know how to make workplaces safer for everyone. It will also inform future law reform priorities.
The Speaking from Experience project focuses on workers who are most likely targeted by perpetrators, yet often not included in policy, research, and resources on workplace sexual harassment. This includes Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, culturally and racially marginalised communities, LGBTIQ+ workers, people with a disability, young workers, and other marginalised groups .
Face-to-face consultations will be led by the Australian Sex Discrimination Commissioner in Central Australia and the Barkly during the dates of 4 July, 5 July and 8 July. Those who participate in a face-to-face consultation will receive a $120 gift voucher.
