In "Simply STEM!," educators will explore a collection of simple, low-tech, low-cost, engaging, and easy-to-implement STEM activities. In “Simply STEM!,” educators will explore a collection of simple, low-tech, low-cost, engaging, and easy-to-implement STEM activities. Specific topics and activities will include natural science 20 questions, animal classification, a values clarification exercise, and small-group machine pantomimes. This workshop will also provide context including regional and national STEM trends, priorities, standards, and outcomes. Why is STEM education now so critically important? What are some statewide and national priorities? Which STEM standards should we be aware of and aligned with? And how are we measuring our positive impact on programs, educators, and students? This workshop is open to all educators. Pre-registration is preferred but "walk-ins" are welcome.
