Why Are We Doing This Work?
The Sign Regulations in the Zoning Bylaw (No. 9990) provide requirements for all signs within Saskatoon. The regulations are separated into signage groups based on zoning districts, with allowable sign types based on the context of the area. Since 2011, significant amendments to the Sign Regulations have not occurred.
In 2024, the City began Phase 1 of a review by engaging the public on housekeeping changes for clarity and consistency.
Phase 2 of the review focuses on more substantive changes to specific sign categories.
Phase 2- What Are We Asking?
Through this survey, we will identify the level of public interest and concern for two sign categories.
- Digital Signs – brightness, distances from sensitive areas, and traffic safety
- Project Development Signs – sign size and time allowed on a site
The survey will ask scenario questions related to common concerns with these sign types.
It should take you 5-10 minutes to complete the survey.
How will this information will be used?
Your feedback, along with internal considerations, will help to inform any regulation changes.
