Safe Together: Empowering Peaceful Responses | Youth Workshop (Ages 13-25)(In partnership with Cook County Public Health and Human Services)

- 🔥 Learn to Stay Cool in Conflict 🔥
Ever been in a heated situation and wished you had the skills to do something to help?
✅ Stay calm and centered in tense situations
✅ Step up as an upstander instead of a bystander
✅ Learn how to intervene in bullying situations effectively
🍽 FREE Lunch + Stipend for Participants - Youth will learn tools to remain calm and centered in tense situations.
These skills are important for leadership development, personal growth, and can be used in situations of all types including school, home, and community. - April 21st is a professional development day for teachers. This enables youth to participate in this day long session.
- This workshop is only available for youth to participate in, but interested adults are welcome to sign up to assist and be in the space to learn from the material presented. If you or any youth you know are interested in participating, please indicate on the form below.
- Workshop will include:
personal and situational de-escalation tools such as window of tolerance, OODA Loop, CLARA, and upstander intervention

- Threat Assessment workshop
- April 22nd at the Cook County Higher Ed, Room 214 (300 West 3rd Street) in Grand Marais, MN from 11:00AM-1:00PM.
- The Threat Assessment module serves to introduce participants to a layered framework that encourages a proactive approach to community safety and mutual protection. This module involves two practical skills for developing a threat assessment: Community Mapping and the Risk Formula. Participants will be guided through a structural explanation and interactive examples, before creating a threat assessment unique to their own community experiences. By the end of this module, participants should feel well equipped to prepare and advocate for the unique needs of their community

- Community Safety Circle
- April 28th, Cook County Higher Ed, Room 214 in Grand Marais, MN from
5:30-7:00pm - A community circle related to safety topics in partnership with Cook County MN Restorative Justice. This will be the first in a series of ongoing facilitated community circles around a variety of topics of interest to the group.
