Workforce Sustainability Best Practices Survey |
Introduction
Workforce Sustainability refers to the programs, policies, and investments needed to ensure that the staff employed by water and wastewater providers have the skills, knowledge, and motivation they need in order to protect public health and the environment. No one agency has all the answers, but we can learn from each other. The purpose of this survey is to discover whether you have programs, resources, or tools that could be shared with others in any of the following areas: Needs Assessment and Strategic Planning; Candidate Development; Staff Preparedness; Sustainability Awareness; Optimized Use of Staffing Available; Staff Motivation; and Cost-Effective Workforce Investments through Collaboration. After we learn about areas where you have programs or tools, we will contact you to learn more about these programs and collect resource materials (e.g., videos, PowerPoints, guidebooks, training materials, checklists, surveys, and reports) that might be useful to others.
This survey is part of the effort from IWA and its Specialist Group on Sustainability in the Water Sector to create an online interactive Global Guidebook on Workforce Sustainability, which will include links to resources in multiple language. Please let us know what has worked for you so that we can share it with the world.
