The Early Childhood Program Standards position statement was last revised in 2005.
This survey is designed to gather feedback on the initial public draft. It was developed with the input of an advisory group appointed by the NAEYC Governing Board under the leadership of the Board's Early Learning Policy and Professional Advancement committee. Members of the workgroup and committee will consider all of the feedback submitted via this survey and other means before revising and releasing a final version of the revised statement in 2025.
Please note that this draft does not include references to the research evidence underpinning the standards and indicators. A separate document will eventually complement the Standards as a companion that will be released with the final version of the position statement. For now, we are seeking public comment on the structure and content of the Standards themselves, and want to focus feedback on those sections in particular.
Detailed, specific responses are most helpful. Please try to disregard mechanical errors; all copyediting will be done by NAEYC staff before the final version of the statement is published.
Thank you for your review and comments. This survey will be open until November 15, 2024.
