The North Dakota Soybean Council is awarding grants up to $500 on a competitive basis to support projects/lessons related to soybean science or soybean-based food lessons in middle and high school. Funds CANNOT be used for food or snacks unrelated to the soy project/lesson, transportation, labor, or fundraising. Funds will be allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis. These funds provide financial support for education for a classroom project. The funds are to be used in a hands-on classroom activity.
Selection criteria include (but are not limited to) the number of youths involved, the length (days) of the lesson(s)/project, and the measured youth impact on knowledge of soybeans, soybean industry careers, soy innovations, and soybean consumption and demand.
How to apply for funds:
• Complete and submit the online Soybean Grant application (below)
• Purchase soybeans/soybean-based products and/or educational materials & keep copies of receipts.
• Complete the evaluation form and reimbursement requirements and submit a photo of your classroom activity
• The deadline to submit reimbursement documentation is 30 days post-project
• No funds will be issued after April 30, 2025. (Disclaimer: NDSC may request additional documentation before remitting payment)
Guidelines:
• Only materials associated with you project that help students learn more about soybeans, soybean research, and innovations may be purchased for reimbursement funds and must be used in classrooms lessons.
• To receive reimbursement, receipts for materials purchased must be submitted to NDSC.
• Receipts must include the printed date and be legible. Illegible receipts without a date will not be accepted.
