Conference Overview
Conference Description: The System of Care Institute (SOCI) is based on the principles of interagency collaboration, individualized and strength-based practices, cultural responsiveness, community-based services, accountability, and full participation of families and youth at all levels of the system.
Who attends? This is a workforce development opportunity for professionals in Behavioral Health, Tribal Health & Human Services, Child Welfare, Education, Disabilities, Juvenile Justice, Advocacy, and other related social service fields. Youth receiving these services and/or their caregivers are also encouraged to attend. Average attendance is 150 people per day.
Logistics: The 2015 SOCI is a two-day event being held at the Downtown Holiday Inn | Everett, WA. This is the fourth year for this event. Registration begins at 7:30 AM and sessions run from 8:30-4:30. Conference registration, light breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack are included for presenters.
Desired Content: Attendees should be introduced to key components of Systems of Care principles; evidence based practices; evaluation and outcomes; innovative models; lessons learned; and/or examples of policies and practices supporting children, youth, and families.
Each presentation should be developed to meet one of the follow learning levels: Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, or Administrative. Sessions should have appeal across disciplines.
Preference: Preference will be given to proposals that can be presented on both May 5th and May 6th. All proposals must support System of Care Core Values
Timelines, Review, and Notification: Completed proposals are requested by March 16, 2015. All proposals will be reviewed by the Children's Policy Executive Team SOCI committee. Contacts for selected proposals will be notified by April 1, 2015.
Funding, Support, and Sponsorship: This event is funded and supported by the North Sound Mental Health Administration and Northwest Educational Service District 189. Sponsorship and support are also provided by the North Sound Regional Children's Executive Policy Team.
