The Governor’s Office of Community Service (GOCS) seeks proposals for one or more 60-75 minute breakout session(s) at the ServeMontana Symposium. Sessions will be presented in-person, March 13-14, 2025 to AmeriCorps members and staff, on the campus of Carroll College.
ServeMontana is a leader of national service and community volunteerism in Montana. The annual ServeMontana Symposium engages diverse speakers to present timely, practical, and relevant information to AmeriCorps members serving across the Big Sky State.

ServeMontana Symposium Description
This is the most significant gathering of AmeriCorps members and staff in our state. Over 150 AmeriCorps State & National, VISTA, and NCCC members, staff, and staff of the Montana Commission on Community Service convene to learn, network, and explore creative solutions to Montana’s most pressing needs. serve.mt.gov/americorps/americorps-programs
As a presenter, you will
- Receive a complimentary conference registration
- Have the opportunity to meet, network, and share your expertise with National Service members
- Have your name and affiliation published in conference materials and on the ServeMontana Symposium webpage
Target Audience
AmeriCorps members and staff from diverse backgrounds who serve in teams and single site placements across Montana. Combined, they meet needs in the areas of Economic Opportunity, Education, Environmental Stewardship, Healthy Futures, Veterans/Military Families, and Capacity Building.
As a presenter, you will

Session Length and Style
Concurrent sessions are 60-75 minutes and in three different time blocks. Sessions should be interactive and incorporate adult learning styles, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Session Proposals
Titles and content aligned with the theme are encouraged. GOCS seeks a diverse selection of offerings addressing elements of service and volunteerism.
Submission Deadline
The priority deadline for submitting your proposal is 5:00 p.m. on December 20, 2024. The final deadline is Wednesday, January 8, 2025. GOCS will notify you about the status of your presentation proposal by or close to January 17.
