This survey is sponsored by the Coastal Waters Consortium, funded by the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative (GOMRI). The 19-question survey takes about 10 minutes to complete. Your information may be used by spill authorities to develop regional directories of oil spill subject matter experts, for response and/or damage assessment studies.

The primary purpose of this survey is to learn about your potential interest in providing technical input in support of oil spill planners and responders, e.g., NOAA Scientific Support Team and other oil spill specialists, who also can complete the survey to share their knowledge with others. For this purpose, the end of survey includes checkboxes to learn about YOUR expertise. We'd also like to learn if you're interested in talking, and/or collaborating, with oil spill preparedness and response specialists, including industry, as well as providers of local knowledge. Our focus is applying science, experience, other relevant knowledge, to inform response decisions about spill mitigation and cleanup (i.e., best professional judgement in light of spill-specific uncertainty). If you express interest and a future situation aligns with your expertise, you may be contacted to supplement the knowledge of spill authorities/oil spill responders, e.g., Coast Guard, Incident Management Teams, Regional Response Teams, NOAA, EPA, among others. If contacted, your input could become an example of the "broader impact" of your research.
