PFD Consultation 2020 |
Share your experience of development cooperation with the EU !
As a member of the Policy Forum on Development (PFD), you have been contributing to the discussions around EU development policy through global and regional meetings, capturing insight from constituents to improve the ways in which development objectives are pursued, as well as ensuring that the voices and concerns of civil society and local authorities are taken into consideration by the EU in its decision-making process.
It has been almost seven years since the PFD was institutionalized and five years since the 2030 Agenda was agreed. The PFD discussions during this time have resulted in a wealth of knowledge that we are currently compiling. Given the window of opportunity that the appointment of a new European Commission and the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) represent for the mainstreaming of the PFD’s sustained work into the EC’s new priorities and programmes, we propose to carry out a short consultation. We invite you to supplement the information we have from the PFD meetings about the three key dimensions of our work to date:
A. Our common objectives, which are mostly framed by the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs);
B. The context in which we carry out our work, which is strongly influenced by how enabling the legal, administrative, economic and social environment are in which you operate; and
C. The means by which we pursue our objectives, which most of the time require developing alliances and multi-stakeholder partnerships.
Given the exceptional circumstances in which the global community finds itself due to COVID-19, we have added a section at the end of this questionnaire regarding the impact that the situation may have in the working areas covered by this consultation.
