Brisbane City Council and Souths Logan Leagues Club have received a $2 million Federal Infrastructure Grant to plan for the future of Davies Park. The plans were supposed to:
- Ensure Davies Park is retained as community asset
- Ensure club house is a community space which can be used regularly
- Consider removing fencing to increase park accessibility
Federal Infrastructure Department approved a project in Council’s name under the Investing In Our Communities Program, called “Davies Park community space - clubhouse renovations and extension”
- No payments have been made to Council yet
- Project must benefit community
- Community consultation should have taken place (it hasn't yet)
In their 2024-25 budget, Council has set aside $1.086 million in their Lifestyle and Community budget for “Davies Park Community Space”, including:
- Club house refurbishment including construction of new commercial kitchen
- Expansion of building to future services to support the clubhouse
This survey proposes three additional infrastructure projects for Davies Park to determine what is the priority for our community.
