Farmer Accelerator and Farm to Restaurant Program: Farmer Application 2020 |
Please answer all questions to the best of your ability. Your answers will help us in selecting our 2020 Farmer Accelerator and Farm to Restaurant Cohort Members. Below are a list of our 'asks' if you are selected to be in the cohorts.
Farm to Restaurant Cohort Asks
- Be a current Georgia Organics Farmer member
- Complete two sales data surveys
- Participate in a one-day spring workshop at the GO offices
- Attend at least one of two networking events during your cohort year
- Provide feedback on Farm to Restaurant programming through surveys and phone calls, as requested
- Selling to restaurants consistently whenever possible throughout the year and creating space to intentionally increase your farm's restaurant sales
- Engaging and communicating with the Farm to Restaurant team in a respectful manner at all times
- Being realistic about the program. Selling to restaurants on a consistent basis may take some time. You may also realize that selling to restaurants isn't for you or your farm's business model. The Farm to Restaurant program will help give you the tools to support you selling to restaurants and distributors. It will not sell your products and it does not control who will buy your products. You are your best marketer so it helps to show up.
Farmer Accelerator Cohort Asks
- Complete the application and answer any subsequent follow-up questions for admission.
- Farmers complete the USDA NIFA Farm and Ranch Health Assessment survey, with Georgia Organics staff support, prior to joining the program
- Sharing revenue data at the beginning and end of the program to help measure program success
- Farmers commit to spending the infrastructure funds only as outlined the Accelerator plan created with Georgia Organics staff.
- Farmers who utilize Apprentices follow a provided basic curriculum that ensures an employee’s progressive education in sustainable agriculture.
- Farmers complete three surveys on their experiences during and after the Accelerator program.
- Farmers sign a Memorandum of Understanding committing to the above requirements.
