You may either nominate an individual or self-nominate.
All nominations must be completed by November 19, 2021.
The Board of Directors serves a critical role by providing strategic direction, resources, and professional expertise to help carry out the SIU Alumni Association mission. One term on the board consists of two years, with the option of being selected to serve additional terms.
Directors-at-Large are voting members of the SIU Alumni Association board. They must have been granted one or more academic degrees from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and be willing to adhere to the following responsibilities and duties:
Commit to the mission, vision and guiding principles of the Association and become knowledgeable about its programs, services, structure, goals and objectives
Be an advocate for SIU in order to enhance SIU’s visibility in their community
Be an active member of the Board
-Attend Board meetings (in-person or via Zoom)
-Serve on committees as assigned by the President and/or the Executive Director
