2023 - 2024 School Health Outreach Project - School District Application |
Are you a school nurse in a public school district? Do you supervise or work with school healthcare providers? If so, you may be interested in receiving funding for a training provided by the American College of Rheumatology (ACR)! Stipends of up to $4,000 will be awarded to school districts who successfully train at least 20 school healthcare providers, in at least one school district.
Planning and implementation are expected to take approximately 6 hours, including a 60 – 90 minute educational session facilitated by a pediatric rheumatologist.
The ACR School Health Outreach Project (SHOP) connects K-12 public school districts with pediatric rheumatologists who facilitate the educational session for the district’s school healthcare providers. The goal of this program is to educate school healthcare providers, particularly school nurses, on the signs and symptoms of lupus, and how to support students and their families in the transition from pediatric to adult lupus care.
The educational session for providers must take place in the 2023 - 2024 school year, between October 1, 2023 and September 29, 2024. If you believe your school district might be a good fit, apply today!
