Zero Waste International Alliance’s Definition of Zero Waste:
The conservation of all resources by means of responsible production, consumption, reuse, and recovery of products, packaging, and materials without burning and with no discharges to land, water, or air that threaten the environment or human health.
Zero Waste means creating efficient and circular systems of sustainable resource use where everything is reusable, recyclable, or compostable. Santa Fe College can achieve Zero Waste by diverting 90% or greater of its material from landfilling.
