Service Enterprise Initiative

Thank you for your interest is becoming certified as a Service Enterprise. This survey will help you determine whether your organization is ready to tackle this rigorous program. While exciting, informative and transformative, it does require a team of staff and volunteers to successfully complete the steps of bench-marking, training, work plan development and executive, and portfolio development for certification. You will need to plan on 12 months of coached work. Ready? Let’s go!

* 1. What motivates you to apply for the Service Enterprise Program? What changes do you want to see in your organization through Service Enterprise?

Whether you work with five, five hundred, or five thousand volunteers on an annual basis, Service Enterprise is designed to help make your existing volunteer management systems stronger, leverage volunteers throughout your entire organization and make your nonprofit more sustainable, efficient and effective in meeting your mission goals.  Does your staff understand that Service Enterprise is not just for the volunteer department but the entire organization?

* 3. Service Enterprise certification is not to be taken on and implemented solely by the Volunteer Manager.  Can you commit your staff to supporting and working on certification and an ongoing Action Plan your team will create?

* 4. Do you understand that becoming a Service Enterprise is an ongoing process and that organizations re-apply to maintain certification in 3 years?  Do you believe your organization is ready for this continued commitment?

Additionally, there 5 hours of coaching calls spread out over the time your organization develops your Action Plan.

* 8. The cost of this program is $3,800. Through the Volunteer Generation Fund, we are able to offer $1,800 scholarships. Are you in need of this scholarship and if so, please explain why?
