Survey Introduction
Thank you for agreeing to contribute to our nonprofit compensation survey. This survey is about how much nonprofits pay employees. This survey will ask questions about your organization, and the compensation and benefits packages that you provide to your employees.
This survey is an important tool for nonprofits across our state to help us all better understand average wages and benefits for the nonprofit sector in South Dakota. Your time and effort in filling out this survey will help elevate all of your fellow nonprofits.
As a participant, you will receive pooled responses in Fall 2024 - data that can guide your decision-making around competitive wages and benefits.
The survey is broken into four (4) separate sections:
1. Organizational Basics 2. Employment Data 3. Benefits 4. Specific Job Positions and Salary Details
The survey should be filled out by the person in your organization who is most directly responsible for salaries and benefits, such as an Executive Director, Director of HR, or an HR staff person. We ask that you please ensure that someone like this is the individual who fills out the survey for your organization.
Please note that this survey is for 501(c)(3) nonprofits. For most organizations, we believe the survey should only take 30-45 minutes to complete. For larger organizations that have many staff levels/positions, the survey may take longer.
Confidentiality: To assure your confidentiality, we do not and will not disclose individual or organization specific data, and we do not report data for categories that include fewer than three respondents.
