World Heritage Center Survey |
We Want Your Input
The City of San Antonio seeks your input on design and planned use of the World Heritage Center located in Council District 3. The new facility, parking, landscaping, and trail connection will be built on the former Mission Drive-In property near the existing Mission Marquee Plaza, San Antonio Mission Branch Library, and Harvey Najim YMCA, with convenient access to the Mission Park Pavilion, San Antonio River Walk Mission Reach, and Mission San José.
As the World Heritage Office, Public Works Department and Council District 3 consider what types of programs and amenities to offer at this new facility, we are exploring how different uses of the new space can accommodate different types of programs and events:
- Temporary Exhibits/Galleries (The center space can be used to feature different artistic, cultural and historical exhibits throughout the year)
- Permanent Exhibits/Display Areas (This is where the overarching theme of the facility is shaped; the center space can be used to permanently house and show larger visual artwork, exhibits, and thematic items related to World Heritage)
- Meetings (The center space can be used to host conference meetings, classes, workshops, and training for groups, organizations and members of the public throughout the year)
- Informal Gatherings (The center space can be used to host community group meetings, quick presentations and similar assemblies throughout the year)
- Courtyard Area & Outdoor Events (The center space can be used to host public/private social functions and community events throughout the year)
