Academy Overview and Requirements

The honorary academy fellowship recognizes those individuals who have worked to transform health and education through associate degree nursing throughout their careers. Honorary fellows have worked in education, practice, and other fields such as advocacy and service. (Does not include individuals actively engaged in associate degree nursing education or practice.)

The nomination packet must include a statement of at most 750 words from the nominator stating why the individual should be considered for honorary membership. Include how the individual has contributed to associate degree nursing education in one of the following areas:·
· Innovative strategies in teaching and learning
· Advocacy for the profession
· Innovative clinical practices
· Research
· Leadership

Professional Head Shot: Submit an electronic photo of the nominee. Nominee's headshot should be between 400 x 400, at a minimum, to 7,680 (w) x 4,320 (h) in PNG or JPEG file.

A commitment from the nominee to attend the induction ceremony at the OADN National Convention at the Marriott Water Street Hotel in Tampa, FL, on October 31, 2024, if selected.

A completed nomination packet must include a $100.00 non-refundable application fee, paid by check or money order and mailed to OADN 219 Second Avenue, Suite B Edwardsville, IL 62025 (Please indicate in the memo, or with a note that the payment is related to an AADN application). If paying by credit card, please call Harriet McClung at 800-809-6260.

As a reminder, those interested in submitting an application to nominate an individual as an honorary fellow of the AADN must complete this form and submit it by the Nomination Deadline of June 28, 2024, 8 pm EST/5 pm PST.
