SATELLITES Summer Institute Teacher Application 2016
The SATELLITES Summer Institute will be June 27 to July 1, 2016 at The University of Toledo's main campus. There are 25 available positions for the summer and attendees will be chosen through this application process.
Some requirements if you are chosen to participate in this NASA funded research project:
TEACHER
- Must commit to all 5 days, June 27-July1, 2016 of professional development from 8:00-5:00.

- Do an inquiry-based project using one of the GLOBE protocols at the Summer Institute.
YOUR STUDENTS
Since this is a NASA research-based project, some of the requirements are
- students participate in pre-tests, and post tests. The Geo-spatial test is done online and you do not have to grade them. It takes approximately 30 minutes to do each test. First test must be completed by October 15th, the second by January 15th , and the third by March 15th.
- students complete inquiry-based projects using one of the GLOBE protocols taught at the Institute.

- students enter their field research data on the GLOBE web site.
- some students present their projects at the SATELLITES Conference, spring 2017.
As a THANK YOU for all your efforts, teachers who are chosen to participate in the program will receive a $500 stipend and be able to keep all equipment ($600 value) provided in the summer.
