The SABCS Patient Advocate Registration Scholarship offers complimentary registration for patient advocates to attend SABCS. There are a limited number of scholarships available. Scholarships will be awarded based on need. Applications must be submitted no later than three weeks before the start of the conference. Organizations are limited to two scholarships per year.

Eligibility
  • Candidates must work or volunteer at a not-for-profit patient advocacy organization that demonstrates a charitable mission; engages in patient advocacy activities; and, supports programs, activities, or services that benefit patients with cancer.
  • Employees or subcontractors of private industry are not eligible.
  • Candidates must be approved for the patient advocate registration rate.

Each application will be reviewed by multiple SABCS staff. Reviewers with a conflict of interest will recuse themselves from evaluating applications with which they have a conflict. Scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of their patient advocacy efforts, an estimation of the potential professional benefit to the recipient, and financial need. All applicants will be emailed regarding the status of their application.
