Climate Organizations DEI Survey 2021 |
Informed Consent
You are invited to participate in a survey on diversity and the climate movement conducted by Antioch University. The purpose of this research is to understand the extent of diversity in the climate movement, and challenges and strategies for equity and inclusion, particularly for people of color in the United States. You were selected to participate in this study because you are a volunteer or staff member associated with an organization focused on climate change.
We are interested in hearing your opinions and concerns related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in your climate organization. Questions 3-8 ask you about your race, age, gender, political affiliation, and socio-economic background. Questions 9-13 ask you about your engagement with the climate movement. Please answer as many as you are able and skip any questions you do not want to answer. The entire questionnaire takes about 5 minutes to complete.
We believe that there are no physical or emotional risks associated with this research study; however, to protect your privacy and the integrity of this study, your response will be anonymous and confidential. We will not ask for your name, birth date, address, or contact information. All data collected as part of this research project will be maintained on a password-protected computer kept in a locked office. Your participation in this study is completely voluntary and you can withdraw at any time. You are free to skip any question that you choose not to answer. If we need to quote or paraphrase you, a pseudonym will be used where appropriate. We value your honest opinion and will not disclose your name or the name of the organization you’re affiliated with in any reporting of the results.
If you have questions about the study, you may contact Principal Investigator Clara Fang at cfang@antioch.edu. If you have questions about your rights as a research participant, please contact the IRB institutional review board chair at Antioch University New England, Kevin Lyness klyness@antioch.edu or AUNE provost Dr. Shawn Fitzgerald at sfitzgerald3@antioch.edu.
To participate you must have read and understood this consent form, and agree to participate in this research study. Please proceed to begin the survey.
