* 1. With paper-based exams, IFSE offers sessions in select cities across Canada at a frequency (e.g. anywhere between thrice weekly to quarterly) based on demand in the location. You must register at least 10 calendar days before the exam date. You must attend in person at the designated location, date, and time of the exam and the proctor is onsite. Typically, the first exam attempt is included in your course registration; fees apply for additional attempts. You receive your exam results in 3 - 5 business days.

* 3. With computer-based exams in a test centre, you can choose from over 100+ locations in most major cities and some smaller centres across Canada. No minimum advanced booking notice required since exam appointments are based on availability; you can book into any open timeslot. Operating hours vary by location (e.g. anywhere between 1-2 times per week to 6 days a week from 8 am to 8 pm). You must attend in person at the designated location, date, and time of the exam and the proctor is onsite. Typically, there is a fee for this option. At the end of the exam, you receive an unofficial status report (pass/fail).  You receive your exam results in 3 - 5 business days.

* 5. With computer-based online exams, you write the exam in your own environment with your own equipment. You must meet minimum requirements including having a compatible device, webcam and microphone, reliable internet, internet browser, and a dedicated, quiet space. No minimum advanced booking notice required since exam appointments are based on availability; you can book into any open timeslot. Operating hours are 24 hours, 7 days a week. You login to the system at the designated date and time. The proctor is offsite and monitors you during the exam using the webcam. Typically, there is a fee for this option. At the end of the exam, you receive an unofficial status report (pass/fail). You receive your exam results in 3 - 5 business days. This service is only available in English but your exam can be delivered in French.
