Quayside Impact Development Digital Survey

Quayside is a 4.9-hectare area at Parliament Street and Lake Shore Boulevard East, equivalent to approximately six soccer fields. This future development will be a complete community, where residents will have housing, recreation, green space, community services and easy access to the necessities of daily life.

Public engagement is an important part of planning and developing this area. We want to hear from the community, non-profit organizations, local businesses, and people like you to collaborate on building a sustainable community for people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities, and incomes.

By working together, we can create a dynamic, inclusive, and resilient neighbourhood.

Quayside will be a complete community with residential, retail and office spaces, entertainment, community care, cultural development, and more.

Guiding Principles
Quayside’s development is guided by 5 Guiding Principles which influences the design throughout the Development Plan, the public realm, and the iconic architecture.

Living with Nature - Sustainability will be built-in as a lifestyle where Toronto’s sustainability goals are met, exceeded, and ingrained into every aspect of the plan. Designs should enhance more symbiotic relationship with the environment by creating a highly resilient, low-carbon community that supports biodiversity.

The Connector - Quayside is at the hinge-point where greater Toronto connects with the waterfront. We embrace this nature by creating vibrant networks of mid-block privately-owned public space (POPS), interwoven with lively streets along Parliament and Queens Quay East.

Inclusive by Design - Inclusivity is intrinsically built-in through an accessible public realm in tandem with the active programs that form a complete community. Quayside will partner with institutions and community groups that share in our goals for diversity and social advancement.

A Neighbourhood and a Destination - Quayside is a place for those who call it home and those who come from near and far to visit. This duality is supported through fluid indoor/outdoor activation, varied programming that serves various scales of community, and active public spaces designed for all seasons.

Cohesive Diversity - The Quayside development leverages our collaboration to build a neighbourhood with the richness of cities built over time. Quayside will provide world-class architecture across all scales, finding compliments between iconicity and continuity, self-expression and shared values.
