In 2018, Governor Kate Brown declared addiction and substance misuse a public health crisis in Oregon. The Oregon Alcohol and Drug Policy Commission (ADPC) has been charged with developing a statewide strategic plan to:
- Reduce SUDs and promote recovery
- Prevent alcohol and other drug (AOD) related deaths and injuries
- Prevent social problems related to misuse of alcohol and other drugs
The strategic planning process is being implemented in partnership with Oregon state agencies, tribal nations, and communities to develop seamless and effective systems of substance misuse prevention and intervention and SUD treatment and recovery at all levels. ADPC has contracted with JBS International, Inc. to help facilitate this planning process.
