A Pediatrician's Role in Oral Health - Survey

To Whom It May Concern,

My name is Veronica Brandley and I am a first-year NYU Langone pediatric dental resident. I am currently training at the Southern California site in San Diego, CA at the San Ysidro Health Children’s Dental Clinic at Rady Children’s Hospital. I am conducting a research project with the help of my faculty mentor, Dr. Jacy Stauffer, DMD. This research project is a prospective study for pediatricians to assess if current oral health services provided by pediatricians are adequate enough to provide optimal dental health care for pediatric patients outside of a dental setting.

You are being invited to participate in a research project, “A Pediatrician’s Role in Oral Health,” because you are a current pediatrician and active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. This survey asks questions to learn more about your training in oral health care, the dental services you provide in your office, and the demographics of your practice and patients. The survey has been approved by the NYU Langone IRB. The survey is completely anonymous and will take no more than 10 minutes to complete. Your participation is voluntary and there is no penalty for choosing not to participate. There are no major risks associated with completing the survey nor is there compensation for participating. Should you choose not to participate in the study, you will not be contacted again. The results of this study will be used for scholarly purposes only.

I would like to thank you for your contribution to the health of children. I hope you will consider taking my survey to help bridge the gap between pediatricians and pediatric dentists. If you have any questions or concerns about completing the survey, please contact me at (619)205- 1950 or at veronica.brandley@nyulangone.org.
