The Robson Valley Recreation Centre was built in the 1980s to meet the needs of the McBride and area community at that time. The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George is now surveying the community to help plan for the future and ensure community needs are met and the Robson Valley Recreation Centre is adequately funded.

This survey can be completed by an individual or on behalf of a family. Please complete separate surveys for your family members if it is important to have their individual answers recorded.

The Robson Valley Recreation Centre currently provides:
  • ice surface for recreation and sports (October to March)
  • ice-off surface for recreation and sports (April to September)
  • Fit Pit gym (all year)
  • Convert-a-Court for recreation and sports including squash, racquetball and handball (all year)
  • concession for recreation and sports (October to March)
  • curling rink and lounge for recreation and sports (October to April) operated by the McBride Curling Club
The Robson Valley Recreation Centre is open:

  • off-ice season (April to September): 6 am to 9 pm, 7 days per week

Service Funding
The Robson Valley Recreation Centre has been upgraded over the years by adding the Fit Pit and a new heat recovery system, chiller and electrical panel. Now after 40 years building envelop repairs and upgrades are needed on the roof, awnings, windows, doors, insulation, siding and mechanical and electrical systems.

The cost of running the Robson Valley Recreation Centre and any repairs or upgrades are funded by taxes. Residents that live in the established service area pay an annual tax to the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George:

  • the 2024 tax rate is $107.26 for every $100,000 of an assessed property value, including land and improvements
  • the average McBride property is assessed at $239,000 and pays $268.51 per year to operate the facility
