1. General Information

The Expanding Computing Education Pathways (ECEP) is conducting a research project to help broaden participation in computing. We are currently accepting applications for this program from underrepresented students in Georgia who are taking an Advanced Placement Computer Science A course during the 2017-2018 school year.

The details for the program are:

1) Apply to be part of the program by filling out this survey. Be sure to click submit on each page. The survey has several pages. You are not done till you see the "Thank You" page. Be sure to enter a valid e-mail address and cell phone number as these are the primary ways we will communicate with you.

2) Your parent/guardian must sign a consent form and you must sign an assent form to be part of this research project.  We will send you the forms after you complete this application if you are qualified to join the project.

3) Students must take a pre attitude survey and a pretest of their knowledge of AP CSA concepts.  We will send you information on how to do this after you enroll.

4) Students who enroll in the research project (by providing consent and assent forms) are encouraged to attend at least four help sessions.  A three-hour in-person help session will be offered at least once a month at Georgia Tech  and remote one-hour help sessions will be offered at least twice a week.  There will also be one-on-one remote help sessions, on request.

5) If a student sends in his or her score by the end of July s/he will be entered into a drawing for a prize worth $150 to $200.

6) The students may also be asked to participate in interviews or focus groups as part of the evaluation of this project.
