Town of Stonington - 2026 Plan of Conservation & Development Update |
Welcome!
The Town of Stonington is seeking input from residents to contribute to the Town's Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD) update. Stonington last updated their POCD in 2015. Stonington updates the POCD every ten years to establish a vision and objectives that address economic development, housing, transportation, parks and open space, historic and cultural resources, natural resources and sustainability, and other quality of life goals. This survey addresses these topics and we will build further engagement opportunities around discussing these topics in greater depth.
The POCD is an important document that establishes policies and action steps to guide conservation and development within the Town. The document is also used by decision makers in a variety of ways including funding for capital improvements, targeting development and economic activity, and protecting or purchasing natural resources and open spaces.
This survey is meant to better understand how the community feels about Stonington in its current state and where it should be heading. The survey has 30 main questions about Stonington and up to 10 optional questions about you. We recommend that you set aside approximately 15-20 minutes to complete the survey. Your responses will help establish shared values and priorities for Stonington’s future and will guide the planning process. As the process progresses, we will be holding open houses, workshops, and information sessions to further discuss the POCD update and specific topics.
The entire team working on the POCD update respects the privacy of all survey participants, individual answers and personal demographic information collected from this survey will not be accessible to the public.
Thank you for participating! Your opinion matters!
