Next Steps in Supported Employment Inquiry - Plain English Survey Questions

What's Happening?

The Royal Commission looked at how people with disabilities are treated. They found some problems with how people with disabilities are treated in supported employment settings or Australian Disability Enterprises (ADEs).
The government wants to make things better. They are asking questions about ADEs.
Some people think these places are good, and some people think they should change, or that that they shouldn’t be there at all.
The Royal Commission said that some people with disabilities get paid very little and are sometimes treated badly when they work at ADEs. They also said that some people are kept away from other people in the community because they work in ADEs.
The government wrote a paper about this. You can read it online. It's in easy-to-read words and Auslan.
You can find it at Next Steps in Supported Employment: Consultation on the way forward.
