Weatherization Leadership Development Community of Practice Application

The National Community Action Partnership is pleased to offer the Weatherization Leadership Development Community of Practice (WLDCOP), a unique cohort-based learning experience designed to help Weatherization subgrantees select, develop, and retain the Weatherization leaders of tomorrow through a comprehensive peer-to-peer cohort model.

This first leadership cohort will provide 20 to 25 participants with curriculum, exercises, and collaboration with subject matter experts to maximize long-term growth through coaching, group projects and interactive discussions. A particular emphasis will be placed upon utilizing the four quadrants of adult learning: theoretical knowledge, practical skills development, case study analysis, and lived experiential learning constructs. Designed to empower crew members, crew leaders, intake specialists, and other weatherization team members to become the leaders of tomorrow.

Cohort Meeting Dates and Commitments: The WLDCOP will convene four times during 2024-2025:
1. In person launch: NCAP Annual Convention, Seattle Washington.
Tuesday August 27th, 2024, 8:30 am - 12:30 pm.
2. Virtual meeting, 2 hours: Thursday, October 17, 2024
3. Virtual meeting, 2 hours: Thursday, November 22, 2024
4. Virtual meeting, 2 hours: Thursday, February 20, 2025


In addition, cohort participants enrolled should expect to have ongoing job-embedded “homework” for follow-up virtual sessions such as, but not limited, to case study analysis, personal leadership style exploration, and group presentations with peer participants.

While the total time commitment may vary from participant to participant, estimated total time investment is ten hours class time, ten hours of peer-to-peer networking and interaction, and 5 hours of homework and project work during in the 2024-2025 timeframe.
