Free COVID-19 Testing for Nursing Facilities (NF) Staff

Introduction/Registration

The Texas Division of Emergency Management, in partnership with Texas Health & Human Services, has contracted with Omnicare to administer COVID-19 tests. In nursing facilities this testing is for staff only.

For residents, testing can be arranged between your facility and a lab, and can be paid for through the resident's Medicare and/or Medicaid.

Omnicare is providing the point-of-care testing at no charge to the facility. Most results are provided to the facility within 24 to 48 hours.

Please provide the requested staff information and it will be submitted to Omnicare. HHSC submits all testing requests at the end of each week to Omnicare and the following week Omnicare will contact you to schedule your facility's COVID-19 testing. They will provide more details about the process at that time.
