Racial Equity Arts Lab (REAL) Learning Cohort

Racial Equity Arts Lab (REAL) Learning Cohort for arts and cultural organizations is a free series of sessions designed to give organizations a foundational understanding of how to move towards becoming more human-centered and anti-racist organizations. Participants will have the opportunity to assess where their organization is at on their journey and develop strategies to move forward towards greater racial equity. Sessions will include collaborative learning activities, training presentations, discussion, technical assistance and coaching.
Cohort Schedule
Five Tuedays: May 4, May 25, June 15 and July 6, September date TBD, 2021 10am – 12noon (Arizona time)
Participants are also asked to do homework between sessions for a total of 10 hours of online sessions and 20 hours of work between sessions, equaling 2 hours per week over three months.
Cohort Participants
There is space for 12 – 16 organizations depending on the number of participants per organization.
Organizations are asked to send two to three representatives from different areas of the agency (e.g. human resources, education, artistic production, board, etc.) including at least one organizational decision-maker in a leadership position with the authority to implement changes and hold all areas of the organization accountable (e.g. an executive director, artistic director, managing director, chief financial officer, etc.).
