Introduction

Earlier this year, our historic strike action over pay led to an increased pay award of 12.4% for the 2023/24 pay year. As part of this pay deal we also agreed to re-enter negotiations with the Welsh Government on the resident doctor contract in Wales and we are now preparing to do so. Before we do, we need to hear from you.

The current contract no longer works for resident doctors in Wales. It doesn’t provide the protections we need, nor the modern working arrangements and training guarantees we deserve.

However, you made it clear that the contract that we negotiated in 2022 wasn’t good enough. After it was rejected, we took the time to listen to your feedback on what you liked and disliked about the proposals. However, before we re-enter contract negotiations we need to know if you still feel the same way about these contract reform areas and what your priorities are.

This is a short survey and should take no longer than 20 minutes to complete. At the end of this survey, you have the option to also enter a free draw to win a £25 John Lewis voucher.

This survey will close on Monday 23 December 2024.
